Health And Safety Sign Association AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the HSSA was held at Seton Headquarters in Banbury. The Chairman addressed the membership with a report that 2008 had been a challenging year for the Association with an ever increasing work load on members, changes in technical standards, importance of energy conservation, recycling and environmental impact. Members have all contributed to the aims and objectives of being responsible and positive contributors to the reduction of carbon footprint and pollution. This will continue to be a major consideration for the executive committee and the membership.
In addition to the Association's keen interest in environmental impact in 2008, the HSSA has invested over £12,000 in the development of free teaching material for schools, at every key stage level from infant, a junior and senior course regarding the vocabulary of safety signs.
The teaching material covers the convention of colour, geometric shape and graphical symbols of safety signs aimed at making the workplace and public spaces a safer environment for all occupants.
