The FIA Welcomes an Extensive Training Programme for 2012

Entering its 12th year of training, the FIA is making its 2012 training programme even more extensive with some 178 course dates scheduled at venues throughout the UK.
With a busy year ahead the Association is pleased to now have 11 trainers, with FIA Technical Manager, Graham Simons joining the programme in 2012.
In an effort to continually improve their existing course offering, the FIA launched a Voice Alarm course in October this year. In 2012 the Association plans to develop a Wireless Alarm Systems course and update Unit 8, Reducing False Alarms from Fire Detection and Alarm Systems. Both of these courses are outlined in the new training brochure; if you would like to register your interest for these courses please email the Training Manager, Ian Gurling at igurling@fia.uk.com.
The training brochure is available to download from the FIA website, www.fia.uk.com, where all of the courses can also be booked.
Since the Association started training in 2000 the FIA has seen more than 30,000 delegates pass one or more of their courses. These range from basic fire detection design to service and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers as well as courses covering Emergency Lighting and Communication for technicians.
The FIA also offers F-Gas certification for technicians to ensure proof of competence under The Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations 2009.
All FIA training courses are registered for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and contribute towards an individual’s CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers) requirement.
For further information about any FIA courses please telephone the Training Department on 02031665002.
