The Fire Industry Association (FIA) has announced the seminar programme for its annual conference, which takes place on 15th March in Warwickshire. This year’s conference, entitled ‘Moving Fire safety into Top Gear’ will look at all the key issues to affect the industry including the reduction of false alarms, Fire & Rescue Services attitudes to attending automated fire alarms and, in terms of fire risk assessments, the definition of ‘suitable and sufficient’ and ‘competent and responsible’.

Key speakers during the day include Lawrence Harrison from Prysmian Cable & Systems Ltd, who will discuss the thorny issue of counterfeit cables and how to spot them; Jonathan Herrick from West Midlands Fire & Rescue, who will present the latest CFOA publication on the Application of the Fire Safety Order (2005) for Enforcing Authorities; as well as technical experts from across the FIA’s membership.

The 2012 FIA Conference, in association with Moyne Roberts, takes place on 15th March at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire.

The Heritage Motor Centre motor museum is home to the world's greatest collection of British Cars. The museum tells the story of the car, from some of the very first cars to take to British roads, right up to the latest designs. Delegates will get the opportunity to tour the museum during the day.
