Extinguisher Technician Training
Personnel servicing fire extinguishers should, according to BS5306 part 3:2003, be 'competent' and this requires them passing the FETA or an equivalent BAFE recognised examination.

Fire Industry Resources & Equipment Ltd provide training and refresher courses to fire trade extinguisher service technicians and in-house maintenance people in organisations that warrant servicing their own extinguishers or those working in facility management companies who need to service a clients extinguishers as part of an all encompassing service contract.

The intensive technicians' examination course runs for three days with the students taking the written and practical FIA (FETA) examination on the fourth day.

The one day refresher course is required to be taken every three years according to BS5306 part 3:2003 for the extinguisher service technician to retain 'competency' and is open to anyone who has previously attained the FETA or an equivalent examination. In effect the course provides ongoing 'continuous professional development' found in other skilled professions.

Scheduled courses are run frequently at training venues around the UK, alternatively if you have five or more technicians needing training on any one course you should find it more cost effective for us to run the course in-situ at your own facilities.
